Women's Ministry

Women in the inner city face many challenges and are often the most vulnerable people in our community. We seek to provide a safe and supportive environment where women can find affirming and non-exploitive relationships. We hope for an environment of community rather than competition.

Towanda! Is our ladies group that meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 6:00pm at Carpenter’s Church. We use this time for relationship building and Kingdom seeking. Our Towanda! group also enjoys going on retreats together 2-3 times per year to allow time for rest and fellowship.

emPOWER is a women’s only support group open to any woman who has ever been abused, struggled with sexual addiction, been in a controlling relationship, or in the sex industry in any way. We discuss a variety of topics, do journaling, express ourselves through art and also share with each other as we walk together on the road towards healing. emPOWER groups have been available at the Lubbock County Detention Center since October 2012 for the women incarcerated there. An emPOWER group meets every Monday from noon to 1pm at Carpenter’s Church. Lunch provided.

Pastoral Counseling

Jaime is available to meet with any woman who desires one-on-one pastoral counseling or a mentoring relationship. We also work with agencies in town, such as the Voice of Hope to connect women to the appropriate resources they need as they are working towards healing.

Human Rescue Coalition

We support the local Human Rescue Coalition which is a West Texas group of concerned citizens advocating for the rescue & restoration of those trapped in the sex industry and human trafficking through awareness, education & action. For more information on the HRC and their local involvement, find them on Facebook or email humanrescuecoalition@gmail.com.
